"Wow! Just wow! Our French friends told us to go and we were not disappointed. In fact, everything was just amazing. The views are stunning enough, but the food!!! The oysters were the best I've ever had, so fresh and well shucked (with no gritty bits) the mussels were stunningly delicious too, tasting of wine and the sea. My wife's seafood platter was gorgeous, well presented and so, so tasty. This has got to be the best seafood restaurant in the vendee. I could not recommend this place highly enough. Certainly going to be back the next time we're near to les sables d' olonne."

"I could not be happier with my dinner experience at Les Barges. Not only was the food (the local specialty is a MUST) and wine delicious - or the service staff incredibly nice and attentive the whole evening. On top of it, the generous and wholesome owner was present among the tables introducing himself and the menu making the guests feel very welcome. Always with a smile on his face, he and his team will make sure you have what you need in order to have the best experience possible. Coming from a Swede who loves seafood, you will not regret visiting Les Barges."

"Overall a nice experience in what I would call the Fisherman house. That's in fact where this restaurant is based, at the bottom of what I guess it was used to be the stocking point, in a renovated and nicely decorated hall with a view on the coastline that was very suggestive with the windy and the crispy waves. Menu wise, the selection is not huge, in fact it is pretty much a sort of fixed menu style, with a selection you can count on the top of your fingertips. But everything we ate was good and different from the usual. My almost never ending mussels with lobster sauce needed some help to reach the end of the pot. The oysters, couldn't be fresher than they were. The only negative was probably the cuttlefish portion, which in comparison to the price was limited in quantity. The desserts were nice too. This is a fixed rounds restaurant, with either a 19 hours entrance or a 21 one. If you want to eat here, don't forget to book your table, or unlikely you will be eating."

"Amazing place to enjoy beautiful seafood. You couldn't get closer to the ocean and the fish and shellfish are as fresh as you can get Cooked on the embers of a wood fire. It was a special date and a special meal. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend."
